Hi, I’m Jessica
she/her/hers
The science of learning fascinates me. How an individual learns is a combination of how they process, store, and retrieve information. A learning experience can be impacted by how you’re feeling one day, how quickly you’re able to access/digest content, or a life-changing experience.
My favorite part of any learning experience (whether it’s yours or mine) is the ability to quickly access relevant and easy-to-digest content you need to learn a new concept. This drives how I design every day.
My passion for learning & development started in college when I became the Student Training Manager for our tech department on campus. I originally applied for the position because I loved making PowerPoints and formatting documents – that’s essentially what instructional designers do right?
After college graduation, I researched more into adult learning and found the Cal State Fullerton Masters in Instructional Design program. I used the degree to curve my career path and it’s been non-stop since then.
I’m a learning and talent development professional with experience in the higher education, healthcare, and marketing and advertising industries. I have experience designing organizational-wide learning programs tailored to multiple audiences and building learning evaluation models for behavior-based learning outcomes.
I’m passionate about growing and supporting my local L&D community by serving on the Board of Directors for my local Associate for Talent Development chapter, ATD Orange County in California. I’m also the ATD Southern California (SoCal) Young Professionals Orange County representative; a group dedicated to offering resources and engaging workshops geared towards L&D young professionals across Southern California.
